By ordering online or offline from Garden Bargains you accept these terms and conditions ("Terms") at the date of sale. Please read these Terms carefully before placing your order. You may also wish to print a copy for your future reference.

Ordering from us

When ordering online, you are deemed to place an order with us by ordering via our online checkout process. As part of the checkout process you will be given the opportunity to check your order and to correct any errors.

Order acceptance and the completion of the contract between you and us (whether for an order placed online or offline) will take place on the dispatch to you of the goods ordered unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order, or you have cancelled it.

Orders are accepted at our discretion but are normally accepted if the goods are available, the order reflects the correct pricing and your debit or credit card is authorised for the transaction.

When you place an order with us, we do have to ask for certain details to enable us to process and fulfil your orders and to notify you in the event of any queries. In addition to your name, address, credit or debit card number and expiry date, we will ask you for a telephone number in case of any problems regarding delivery. Unless you allow it, no outbound marketing calls will be made to this telephone number.

We take your privacy very seriously. Please read our Privacy Policy, which provides further information as to how we look after your personal data.

Products are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time, including after you have placed your order. If your order cannot be fulfilled we will let you know as soon as possible.

Delivery Charges Explained

Here at Garden Bargains we want our delivery charges to be fair. Therefore, you will normally only ever pay one postage, packing and insurance (PP&I) charge however large your order.

We calculate PP&I charges for every item based on our actual costs, so if you order 2 or more different items, you will pay just the one PP&I charge which relates to the largest item in your basket. Smaller items will therefore typically travel for free. If you order 2 or more of the same item, you will also only pay one PP&I charge.

There are a small number of unavoidable exceptions:

  • Compost is heavy and bulky and therefore has to be sent as a separate consignment - so the charge for delivery on this item is per bag.

  • If you live in the Highlands or Islands of Scotland, Northern Island, the Isle of Man, Isle of Wight or the Channel Islands, there will usually be surcharges applied, which are charged by our courier. We pass these costs on to you for any items to which they apply. Surcharged postcodes include - but are not limited to - the following:

    AB, BT, DD8-11, GY, HS, IM, IV, JE, KA27-28, KW, PA20-80, PH19-50, TR21-25, ZE.

Where such surcharges do apply, the additional cost will be £6.00 per order.

If you are unsure of your delivery charges, or if you need confirmation because you live in one of the areas mentioned above, please note that the delivery charges will always be confirmed in your basket at checkout on our website. For certain items that are delivered by third parties (e.g. Machinery items), separate out-of-area surcharges of variable cost may be charged to us by our supplier. In such cases, we regrettably have to pass these on to the customer and will get in touch prior to dispatch of your items.


In-Stock Items
We will always endeavour to send your goods to you promptly and we will usually dispatch in-stock items within 2-3 days. This will be detailed on the product page where applicable. Otherwise, we commit to sending your order within 7 working days, unless a pre-order item is included.

In instances where we take orders for delivery within a pre-published delivery window, we will publish the expected delivery time in our printed catalogues and advertising - and repeat this in the product listing on our website. We try our best to be on time, however please allow seven days either side of the pre-order date for dispatch, as in most cases this is weather-dependent!

If anything changes due to unexpected seasonal factors we will of course try to let you know. The quickest and easiest way to keep you informed of any changes to your order is by email - so make sure that we have the correct one for you when you place your order.

If part of your order is available for immediate dispatch and part is for pre-ordered items, we will occasionally hold on to your order to deliver in just one parcel. If you have ordered a pre-order item, yet you require part of your order immediately, we are sometimes able to split an order on request - in such cases we reserve the right to charge an additional delivery charge to accommodate this.

Risk and Ownership

Risk of damage to or loss of the goods passes to you at the time of delivery to you (or the agreed delivery address) or, if you fail to take delivery at the agreed time, the time when we tried to deliver. You will own the goods once they have been successfully delivered and when we have received cleared payment in full.

Paying For Your Order

You may pay for your goods in a number of ways through our secure payment system - we accept payment for online and telephone orders by most major credit and debit cards such as Visa (including Visa Electron), MasterCard, Maestro and Delta (but not Diners Club or American Express). Cards are pre-authorised but not debited when your order is first processed to check that we have the correct details. We then only charge your debit or credit card at the time your goods are actually dispatched. If you wish, you may also pay for online orders by PayPal, which is charged at the time you place your order.

We also accept payment by cheque if you order from our catalogues.

We accept no liability if a delivery is delayed because you did not give us the right payment details.

Price of the goods

All product prices are displayed including VAT (value added tax) unless specified otherwise. If the VAT rate changes or there are any unforeseen circumstances affecting the price of goods, we reserve the right to increase or decrease prices accordingly.

Returns and Cancellations

If you need to cancel an order please contact us as soon as you can.

The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013
This legislation offers you the following cancellation rights when you buy online, over the phone or through mail order:

  • You are entitled to cancel your contract if you wish, provided that you exercise your right to cancel no longer than 14 days after the day on which you receive your goods, or in the case of a multiple order, the last part of the order (other than any goods which you have pre-ordered which will have separate cancellation rights).
  • If you wish to cancel your order, you must inform us of your decision by a clear statement (e.g. a phone call, or letter sent by post or e-mail).Please also quote your order number when advising cancellation.
  • If you cancel your order we will refund the price you paid for the goods for which you are cancelling, including the costs of delivery to you.
  • We will process your refund as soon as possible (and in any event no later than 14 days after the day we receive back from you any goods supplied, if return is required). If you cancel your contract before goods have been sent to you, we will process your refund no later than 14 days after the date you informed us about your decision to cancel your order. We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction.
  • Please note that this right to cancel does NOT extend to perishable items including cut flowers, cut and potted Christmas trees, although these returns exceptions do not affect your other consumer rights.

If we sent you something you did not order and which was not a substitute item, please contact us as soon as possible.

All our plants should reach you in the same excellent condition as they left us. If you are dissatisfied in any way with their condition on delivery, please contact us and we will arrange a replacement.

Product Details and Substitutes

Whilst we make every effort to show and describe our products as accurately as possible, you appreciate that there may be slight variations to the size, shape or colour. Illustrations, descriptions and other information are for guidance only.

The availability, price and colour of plants we sell to you may vary according to seasonal and market availability. We will always try to confirm these details when we confirm your order for the plants or prior to delivery. On rare occasions we may have to substitute a similar item for something you have ordered. We will always do this with care and ensure that the replacement is appropriate. If you find a substitute we send you unacceptable, please let us know and we will provide a full refund for the substituted item.

Liability and Disclaimer

We promise that for any product that you purchase from us, we have the right to sell the goods to you, that the goods will be of satisfactory quality and reasonably fit for the purposes for which goods of this kind are commonly supplied.

Our liability to you is restricted to the purchase price paid by you for the goods plus any delivery cost. We shall not be liable to you in contract, in tort (including negligence) or otherwise for any loss of profit, anticipated savings or data, or any indirect losses, that you or your business may suffer. We will not be liable to you or in breach of contract for delay or failure to perform due to any causes beyond the reasonable control of our suppliers or us.

These Terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Whilst we endeavour to ensure the information on this website is correct, we do not warrant the accuracy and completeness of the material on this website. We may make changes to the materials on this website, or the products and prices described on it, at any time without notice. The material on this website is provided "as is" without any conditions, warranties or other terms of any kind.


Unless otherwise stated, the copyright, trademarks and other intellectual property rights in the content and all material on this website and in any printed material, such as our catalogues, (including without limitation photographs, graphical images, artwork, data compilations, audio and video material, slogans and logos) are owned or controlled by our licensors or us.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with English law. We both agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts for all purposes in connection with these Terms and our Privacy Policy.


If any provision of these Terms is found by any court or competent authority to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed not to be part of these Terms and it will not affect the enforceability, lawfulness or validity of the remaining provisions, which shall continue to have full force and effect.

If you breach these Terms and we take no action we will still be entitled to use our rights and remedies in any other situation in which you breach these Terms.

We reserve the right to make changes to this website and these Terms at any time.

Trade / Wholesale Orders

Whilst we are more than happy to take orders from everyone, we cannot make any special arrangements for orders made on behalf of any commercial enterprise in order to meet certain deadlines, or deviate from our standard delivery procedures. Whilst we will obviously make every reasonable effort to accommodate customer requests, and we always endeavour to ensure deliveries are delivered promptly, our couriers cannot provide a specifically timed delivery or guarantee delivery for a specific day.

Any orders placed by or on behalf of a commercial enterprise will always be treated in the same way as any other order and subject to our standard prices and delivery promise. All orders are subject to these Terms..

Offer Codes & Discounts

We often run special promotions through a variety of media. In such cases, the prices quoted are only available with the application of an offer code, which is quoted in the promotional material. Some of these are applied automatically, such as when you click through from one of our email newsletters, or go to a direct link quoted in a newspaper advert. Others should be applied by entering the code you have into the "Do you have an offer code?" box as you checkout, or by quoting it as you order by phone.

Strictly, only one offer code can be applied to your order, otherwise it would be possible to "stack" discount codes up together and we'd often end up losing money!

Please ensure that you have the correct offer code applied when you checkout as, once your order has been dispatched, we may not be able to honour some offers should you use the wrong code.
