Often seen in expensive bouquets, Alstroemeria also make spectacular additions to any garden. They come in one of the widest and brightest ranges of colours imaginable. These ‘Inca’ series plants come in a mix of vibrant red and pink colours and are bred to be compact and produce a lot of stems over a long flowering period – and will look fantastic wherever you plant them.
Flowering from early June onwards, Alstroemeria will go on right through until early autumn and just get better and better every year. Their gorgeous, blooms look delicate but they are actually very tough, hardy and easy to grow. Once planted in pots or mixed beds or borders, these beauties will quickly establish and go on to produce strong stems that will grow up to 2FT (60cm) tall.
Completely covered in flowers along their top half, Alstroemeria are perfect for cutting and creating the most stunning indoor displays, with the long-lasting flowers looking marvellous for up to 4 weeks! Often called ‘Peruvian Lilies’, Alstroemeria’s stunning displays make them some of the most popular summer flowering perennials of all time.
