If you have ever driven through Central France in summer and seen wonderful trees plastered with pink or red flowers, chances are they are Crepe Myrtle, or Lagerstroemia. Now you can grow this amazing wonder over here too.

Thanks to new breeding this flamboyant shrub is compact and free flowering in the cooler UK climate, and makes a stunning and very hardy summer patio plant for a large pot. This pink crepe myrtle is a lovely pastel pink and will literally be smothered in tissue-like bold & bright flowers all summer, and provide a mecca for bees and butterflies.

Golden autumn leaves make the crepe myrtle a fantastic plant too for autumn interest so you can be sure of a spectacular show for most of the year!  Very hardy to -18C or more too, depsite its exotic looks - be one of the first to grow one!

Care Guide

  • Hardy once established, Crepe Myrtle enjoys a hot sheltered position and is best grown against a south facing wall or as a specimen plant in the conservatory - especially in frost-prone areas.
  • Plant in moderately fertile, well-drained soil in full sun.
  • No routine pruning is necessary apart from the removal of diseased, damaged, or dead wood. Shoots that are growing in unwanted directions can also be pruned out.
