In his famous poem Wordsworth decribes a host of golden daffodils and this is the flower that inspired him! Found in meadows and woodland in many parts of the country this is the true wild daffodil from which many of the thousands of the varieties in cultivation are derived. Also known as 'The Lenten Lily' it flowers in early spring and is a welcome harbinger of longer warmer days that are just around the corner. The blooms have a golden trumpet with creamy yellow perianths. Its a splendid garden plant and perfect for naturalising in lawns or around bushes and shrubs in the border, quickly establishing and over a few years giving drifts of nodding yellow springtime blooms.
These bulbs are lifted from fully sustainable sources and are supplied 'in the green' which means they are lifted from the ground just before delivery with green foliage and active roots with their associated beneficial microbes. This is the very best way to establish the bulbs which will arrive with you in active growth mode for planting as soon as possible!
