Product Description

Narcissi are essential for any spring garden, waving goodbye to winter and welcoming spring with their wonderfully bright trumpet flowers, and that’s what this collection of beautiful daffodils will do to perfection.

This superb collection includes a mixture of shades and flower shapes that look amazing planted together and they’re perfect for underplanting trees and shrubs or in natural looking drifts through borders and lawns. They’re also fantastic for filling pots and window boxes and ideal cut flowers too.

Their shorter stems make them particularly robust and able to withstand spring winds that can so often flatten taller varieties, so they’ll always look perfect. Grow them in sun or partial shade in free draining soil and they’ll naturalise, gradually multiplying over they years to give you more and more flowers. Nothing could be easier.

Narcissus Cheerfulness 10/12 x 7 bulbs

Plant Information

Top Tips

  • For a natural look, throw a handful onto a grassy area and plant them where they fall.
  • Which way up? Usually pointy end up, but if you are not sure, plant the bulb on its side and it will right itself.
  • Add mycorrhizal fungi to the roots before planting to encourage faster and more reliable establishment.
  • Propagate by removing offsets in the early summer to populate new areas.

Care Guide

Planting advice for your Narcissus bulbs:

Plant 10-15cm deep and 10cm apart in sun or partial shade, in well-drained, fertile soil.
Spring-flowering bulbs should be planted in the autumn for displays next season. This allows them to establish a good root system before the weather becomes too cold.
Please check the bag for any additional planting instructions.
Use a good-quality potting compost such as our premium professional compost for the best results.
The bulbs are fine to plant even if a little green growth is showing; they will just need a good watering when you plant them, and thereafter only when the soil is dry.
Plant in herbaceous borders, in pots, or in the ground to naturalise.

Aftercare advice for your Narcissus bulbs:

Water frequently and if in pots, ensure that the compost doesn't dry out.
While all the energy that a bulb needs in order to grow is stored in the bulb itself, they will do better if you feed them when in active green growth.
Leave foliage to die back naturally after flowering; never tie up the foliage or cut it back while still green. This allows as much energy as possible to go back into the bulbs for the following year.
Leave them in the ground once they die back and they will come back with bigger and better displays each year.
