What a cracker thislovely paeony is - and quite unique too, it is a hybrid between traditional perennial ones , and the tougher tree paeony, bringing out the lovely coloir and robustness of both.
'Bartzella' is a lovely lemon yellow flower, with a soft frilly centre, and unual red magenta streaks at the petal base. Habit wise it is a neat mound forming plant, topped by a succession of the huge flowers in April and May, and even into June.
Each Autumn it dies down underground, only to emerge bigger and more floriferous next year. Perfect in mixed borders in sun or light shade, avoid growing in pots.
