A cottage garden favourite, Alchemilla Mollis 'Thriller' is perfect for filling your displays with gorgeous blooms and delightful fragrance.
Commonly known as 'Lady's Mantle', the foliage of this Alchemilla has large, fanned leaves with almost scalloped edges that catch falling rain drops and hold them so they can twinkle in the sun, looking like tiny jewels. Contrasting against its gorgeous foliage are the clusters of bright, lime green blooms that are adored by beneficial pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Make sure you plant yours close to a window or doorways where you can enjoy the deliciously sweet honey fragrance of 'Thriller'.
With more of an upright growing habit compared to other varieties of Alchemilla Mollis. However, 'Thriller' is still a low growing perennial that is ideal when planted en-masse for groundcover or as edging plants along your pathways and borders. It will also make a fabulous addition to a wildlife garden where its blooms are a magnet for beneficial wildlife such as bees and butterflies.
In Arabic, Alchemilla Mollis meaning little magical one and it is believed that water that was collected on its fanned leaves has healing properties.

Care Guide
- To plant, firstly water your potted plant well.
- Dig a hole a little deeper and 3 x wider than the nursery pot.
- Remove the plant from its pot and tease out some of the roots.
- Place your plant in the hole at the same level at the pot then refill the hole with the earth removed.
- Firm in the soil with your heel, avoiding the root ball and water well before adding a mulch around the base of the plant.
- Water regularly and feed every two weeks with a general-purpose fertiliser.
- Cut back old stems in autumn, unless you want to leave them in place over winter, in which case cut back in spring.
