Perfect for adding height to your beds, borders and containers, this gorgeous perennial will produce bright scarlet red, two lipped flowers from late summer and lasting through to the autumn. This Lobelia will stand tall in your displays, growing to a height of almost 90cm, the unique purple stems will provide you with interest standing in the spring.
'Queen Victoria' is a versatile perennial that will make a perfect addition to your informal cottage garden, it is also a magnet for pollinators such as butterflies, hummingbirds, and other beneficial insects.

This Lobelia is hardy to -5 in the winter so will need some protection from strong and cold winds in the winter. Care Guide
- Water your potted plant well before planting.
- Dig a hole a little deeper and three times wider than the nursery pot.
- Add a soil conditioner such as well-rotted manure to the earth removed from the hole.
- Remove the plant from its pot and tease out a few of the roots.
- Place your plant in the hole at the same level at the pot.
- Refill the hole with the earth removed (backfilling).
- Firm in the spoil with you heel, avoiding the root ball.
- Keep well-watered but avoid letting the plant sit in cold, wet soil in winter.
- Cut back to the base in late autumn.
- Divide plants every 2-3 years to maintain vigour.
