A treat that you won't forget, our new 'Dinner Plate' Japanese Iris ensata are a spectacular new range that is very different from those of the more familiar German or Siberian forms and up to twice the size of normal ensata types. Affectionately known as the Dinner Plate Iris because of its huge blooms, this large-flowered beauty will delight you with flowers up to 15cm (6in) across.
Dinner Plate Iris ' Jell-O' is a magnificent hardy perennial with large showy blooms of purple pink with white stripes. It will give you huge impact in your borders and containers, where its exquisite range of colours and slender foliage are perfect for adding interest and texture to planting schemes. Perfect for planting in moist soil, if plant them where you can keep them well-watered, either in containers or in garden beds and borders, then 'Jell-O' will naturalise readily, returning bigger and better each year.
Their decorative, orchid-like flowers are easy to grow and maintain, even by the most novice of gardeners and so everyone can have a go at growing them. Not just a pretty face in the garden, blooms can be cut for indoor arrangements and displays and have a light, subtle perfume.
Supplied as an established plant in a 2L pot, ready for immediate planting out. Note that irises are deciduous, so no foliage will be present November - March.
