Lysimachia atropurpurea, the purple gooseneck loosestrife, is a striking, hardy perennial plant with dazzling spikes of purple flowers from May to September.
The spires of flowers emerge from silvery-green foliage which set them off beautifully, each with a jaunty kink to the top of the spike which makes them look a little like a cat's tail (or goose's neck)!
A really easy plant to grow, it's ideal for beginners and more experienced gardeners alike and can be grown in both the garden in moist, well drained soil and also in a pot - so there's really no reason why you can't grow this marvellous plant.
Recomended by the RHS as a Plant for Pollinators, so guaranteed to attract wildlife into your garden, this plant will also help you do your bit for nature and makes an excellent cut flower
Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot ready for immediate planting. Flowers May to September, height 60cm (2ft).
