    Product Description

With the garden deep in its winter slumber, Clematis 'Jingle Bells' is just the thing to bring a cheery reminder that spring isn't too far away.

Beautiful, dainty pale yellow nodding bell-shaped flowers cover the deep green, slightly serrated evergreen leaves. Eventually reaching 4m (13ft) in height, this is a perfect clematis for growing in sun or light shade over a trellis or scrambling through shrubs, and great in a large pot with an obelisk to climb up. Pruning isn't necessary, but if you need to control it a trim after flowering is all that it needs.

A much needed provider of nectar during the winter months, flowering from December until February, 'Jingle Bells' will be a welcome sight for everyone, and for bees and other insects as they begin to explore.

Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, ready to plant out.

    Plant Information

    Top Tips

    • Plant with the crown of the plant 5-8cm deep to encourage new shoots to grow from below ground level.
    • Clematis like cool roots, so try to plant so that the roots are shaded. If you are planting in a sunny position, place some pieces of slate or flat stones on the soil after planting.

    Care Guide

  • Will appreciate a sheltered site with some winter protection such as a dry winter mulch.
  • Feed in spring with a general-purpose feed, avoiding the stems. Mulch immediately afterwards with organic matter such as well-rotted manure, leaf mould or garden compost.
  • Water regularly during periods of dry weather in the first few seasons after planting, especially for container plants.
  • Clematis in pots should be given a liquid feed through the summer and early autumn.
  • Pruning 'Jungle Bells' isn't necessary, as this is a group 1 clematis. However, should it need tidying, trim after flowering.
