A new introduction, Gardenia jasminoides ‘Grandenia’ has the most beautiful snow-white double summer flowers that carry the wonderfully delicate and familiar Gardenia perfume that’s a little like jasmine.
This dwarf, low growing shrub blooms prolifically from June to July and forms flower buds on both the last year's growth as well as on new shoots. Deadheading the faded flowers stimulates the formation of new ones, giving an abundant display.
The evergreen, dark green foliage, larger than that of most Gardenia is matched by large flowers, and ‘Grandenia’ is incredibly hardly, being frost resistant to -10 °C. For best results, grow in ericaceous compost.
Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, reaching a height of 60cm and spread of 1m.
