It won't take long to understand the attraction of the beautiful Eriostemon 'Flower Girl White' after encountering the idyllic blooms and heavenly fragrance. This hardy evergreen shrub really is a scented wonder, worthy of a place in any garden, many even comparing the aroma to the ever-popular gin and tonic beverage that inspires the common name.
This compact, scented ornamental is covered in small pale pink buds from March to May, soon opening into star-shaped bright white flowers. Their delicious, sweet perfume even rivals that of a Daphne, and much like its contemporary, it also thrives in free-draining soil in a sunny, sheltered spot.
Notably, and in addition to its aromatic flowers, the foliage has glands that emit a citrus-like scent when crushed or touched, which makes them particularly useful as a cut flower.
This hardy and reliable early-flowering shrub will grow happily in dappled shade, bringing year-round interest to your garden with evergreen leaves, superb flowers, and wonderful perfume.
Supplied as an established plant in a 17cm pot, ready to plant out.
