Originating from east Asia, Prunus Gladulosa Alba Plena (or the Chinese bush cherry, Chinese plum, or dwarf flowering almond) is a beautiful specimen tree that can be grown in almost any garden.
From late spring, voluminous clusters of blousy blooms smother the compact, upright branches in a truly unique display, before the petals fall to carpet the ground in a blanket of white.
The pompom-like flowers appear before the leaves and will attract early pollinators, such as butterflies and bees into the garden to make it a spring wildlife haven, then, as autumn progresses, the leaves transform to a rich orange red before falling in a fiery cascade.
Can be planted in garden borders or patio containers where it will thrive in sunny or partially shaded areas. Ideal too for training against a south-facing wall.
Supplied as an established plant in a 3L pot, ready for planting out, it is fully hardy to -20°C and reaches an ultimate height of 1.5m.
