'Shogetsu' is a graceful, broad-spreading ornamental tree, considered by many people to be the most beautiful of all of the flowering cherries.
Also known and the Blushing Bride Cherry, in spring its branches are covered with voluminous pink-flushed white flowers which are followed in the autumn by fiery orange-red leaves.
This is an easy to maintain plant, with very little attention needed, apart from watering well during the first year until established.
If you’re the type of gardener who likes to keep your plants in trim, then an annual snip from mid to late summer is the only pruning required to keep a compact shape – although most people will simply leave the tree to do its own thing.
Grow in moderately fertile soil in full sun in a sheltered location for best results.
