Product Description
This striking and unusual violet forms a mound of heart shaped leaves and loves a shady spot.
The white blooms are heavily splashed with china blue and, in springtime, contrast beautifully with brighter flowers such as narcissus and tulips.
So easy to grow and needling very little in the way of maintenance, 'Freckles' seeds freely and soon forms a large clump.
Supplied as 6 x jumbo plug plants, 'Freckles' will grow to H15cm x W30cm and flowers March - June.

Top Tips
- Lift clumps and divide in spring every 3 years or so to maintain vigour.
- Dead head when flowers fade to encourage more flowers or leave in place to self-seed.
Care Guide
- Grow in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade.
- Unpack plugs immediately and stand them in water for an hour.
- If you can’t do this, they can sit in their mini greenhouse for a week if upright and not too wet.
- Plugs may be slightly dry or yellow after being in a dark box in the post, but they’ll quickly recover.
- When planting out, use a trowel to create a hole just deep and wide enough to set in the rootball.
- The aim is to bury just the roots, leaving the bases of the stems (when in growth in summer) or the shoots (in spring) above ground.
- Firm back around the soil using your hand.
- Water in well to settle the soil and prevent desiccation.
