A striking tree that will transform any space in your garden, Crab Apple tree 'Profusion' is a spreading ornamental with vibrant leaves, masses of spring blossom and a 'profusion' of autumn fruits which are much adored by birds.
Both the flowers and the fruit produced by this crab apple are a deep, wine-red colour, and the leaves transition from copper-purple to bronze-green to shades of yellow in the autumn - making this an outstanding specimen for any garden setting.
An ideal tree to plant if you live in a town or have a small garden 'Profusion' is pollution tolerant and also self fertile - so you don't need another crab apple to enjoy a fabulous show of colour throughout the year.
Tolerant of all soil types and needing very little in the way of aftercare (just prune out diseased and crossing branches while the tree is dormant), ‘Profusion’ is best in full sun, but will also tolerate partial shade.
Supplied as a bare-root tree, 1.2m high, crab apple ‘Profusion’ has a slow-growing habit, reaching approx. 4m in 10 years, and is fully winter hardy.
