"How to Grow..Hardy 'Pineapple-Guava' Exotic Flowers and Tropical 'Kiwi-like' Fruits Picked Fresh From Your Garden, Here In The UK"
Pineapple Guava in 20cm/5 Litre Pot
tunning early - Summer flowers, tropical
tasting fruits, Winter hardy, lush evergreen foliage - A unique plant and a superb gift!
A fascinating and stunning looking plant, this Pineapple-Guava is a native of South America but perfectly happy here in the UK. Like a bird of paradise, its flamboyant sorbet pink and ice-white blooms will create a fabulously exotic display from late Spring to early Summer and sweet nectar that butterflies just love. In the Autumn, this amazing plant then produces the most delicious, tropical tasting, vibrant green egg-shaped fruits - similar to a Kiwi's but smoother skinned.
With it's unique 'tropical apple' flavour, the soft, succulent flesh is wonderful eaten on it's own, turned into a smoothie or baked in a pie or crumble for an extra special treat. The pulp also has a slightly gritty texture like the closely related Guava and is utilised in some natural cosmetic products as a gentle exfoliant.

Supplied as a fully established 5 litre potted plant, the Pineapple-Guava is a hardy evergreen that will grow into a very attractive 6' by 6' garden shrub and, when planted in a sheltered sunny spot, will comfortably withstand temperatures down to -5C and fruit reliably year after year.
